A. W. Tozer was pastor of Southside Alliance Church in Chicago for 31 years. Throughout his life and ministry, Tozer called believers to return to the authentic, deep faith that characterized the early church. Reverend Tozer wrote over thirty books. His wonderful book, "The Pursuit of God" has had a powerful impact on the lives of countless Christians.Although he did not attend a Bible college or seminary, Tozer was awarded two honorary doctorates. He began his ministry in 1921 and continued to preach until 1963, having given his final sermon one week before he died. Tozer once wrote, "I have found God to be cordial and generous and in every way easy to live with."
